Location:Heflin, ALSouthwire Job DescriptionJob Summary/Objective:
The Plant Engineering Process Engineer will be responsible for
overseeing and improving the manufacturing processes within the
plant. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional
teams to ensure the efficient and effective operation of production
processes, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and
ensuring compliance with quality standards. The Process Engineer
will also be involved in new product introductions, process
optimization, troubleshooting, and data analysis. Key
Responsibilities : Identify opportunities for manufacturing process
improvements and develop action plans to optimize efficiency,
reduce scrap, and material usage. Provide problem solving support
for machine and process-related issues, implementing corrective
actions to minimize downtime and improve efficiency. Develop and
update work instructions, process standards, and tooling
requirements to ensure standardized operations and minimize errors.
Oversee tooling and dies management to optimize machine performance
and resolve any tooling-related issues. Evaluate machine guarding
systems and ensure compliance with safety regulations and best
practices. Validate and analyze Connected Factory data to identify
trends, performance gaps, and areas for improvement. Utilize data
analysis and statistical tools to leverage process data for
identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
Assist in change management activities related to process changes,
equipment upgrades, and new technology implementations. Collaborate
with product development team to support the design and
implementation of new products and process modifications to create
a robust project plan for reliable and repeatable product launches.
Education and Other RequirementsMinimum Education Level: Bachelor's
Specialized Degree: Engineering Years of Experience: 3+ Field of
Expertise: Preferred Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's
Specialized Degree: Engineering Certificates: Six Sigma Green Belt
Years of Experience: 3+ Preferred Field of Expertise: Mechanical or
