• Oversees the direction, scheduling, production, cost control, and quality control for these locomotives.
• Manages FRA maintenance and heavy repair work on the assigned fleet of locomotives within the established budget restraints.
• Ensures efficient and prompt dispatching of locomotive consists for all trains.
• Ensures efficient and prompt repair of locomotives consistent with traffic requirements and continued changes and/or improvements in locomotive maintenance to provide more reliable and economical unit repair and performance.
• Recommends the purchase of equipment and the modification of existing facilities for attaining quality, efficiency, and production goals.
• Resolves grievances, time claims, discipline problems, differences in interpretation of agreements, and conflicts between crafts regarding jurisdiction of work.
• Assists in the employment of qualified personnel for all crafts, fulfilling EEO requirements, administering agreements, training student mechanics, and recommending candidates for promotions to supervisors.Job Related Experience:Minimum Level: 11-15 years Preferred Level: 15+ yearsEducation:Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (BS)Preferred Majors:
