is searching for a VP Product Strategy for our Verification Services business. This leader is focused on strategy, market understanding, customer needs and business outcomes (not the deep technical architecture or engineering experience).With data instantly sourced from The Work Number for more than 195 million unique individuals, we provide solutions to help instantly verify a candidate's employment history, identity, income and post-hire employment status. When needing to verify a candidate's education or enrollment status, we've partnered with National Student Clearinghouse providing a suite of education verification products using a candidate's Social Security Number (SSN). And with bundled delivery solutions, we help eliminate time-consuming, manual processes so employers can accelerate their hiring process.The VP P ro duct Strategy is responsible for the overall performance of the product, overseeing it from inception and ideation through design, build, launch, growth, enhancement and eventual sunset. Creates product roadmap and identifies delivery channels, direction of product and product development needs. Defines product requirements and collaborates with cross functional teams to bring products to market (D&A, technology, sales, fulfillment, product marketing, finance, legal). This position will be based in Clayton, MO or Atlanta, GA. This position is eligible to work 2 days a week remote and 2 weeks a year from anywhere, this is not a remote role .

What you'll do

• People Leadership - Drive and manage the performance of product leaders, providing coaching, development and mentoring to ensure their successful leadership of the product managers; Set clear expectations for effective talent management and hold subordinate managers accountable for goal-setting, honest employee evaluations, and the incorporation of actionable development plans
• Market Opportunity Assessment - Provide thought leadership and oversight for overall Market Understanding on products and product lines directly managed and others as consulted; Oversee on-going market validation through review and testing of concepts with existing and prospective customers (voice of customer, customer advisory boards, etc.) to ensure maintained competitive advantage
• Product Definition - Demonstrate understanding of portfolios and each leaders execution of product definition and opportunity prioritization; Consult on commercial model and packaging decisions
• Product Strategy & Planning - Create the vision and develop the strategy for product portfolios; Articulate the strategy across the organization and ensure alignment with key stakeholders; Drive Build, Buy, Partner approach and decisions for the products, product lines, & product portfolios within purview
• Product Delivery & Launch - Provide partnership and guidance throughout the product delivery process to ensure strong collaboration with a vast array of teams including product development, pricing, product marketing, legal, billing and delivery teams; Articulate product trade-offs across portfolio and drive alignment
• Growth & Portfolio Management - Demonstrate customer-focused innovation, and provide leadership that enforces a customer-first mindset and performance; Provide thought leadership and approach for assessment and planning of the portfolio's future strategy
  What experience you need
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10+ years of Product Strategy and Management related experience; including extensive experience with go-to-market strategy development
  • 5+ years of building and leading high-performing Product teams, overseeing the full talent lifecycle from onboarding to fostering a positive work environment that promotes retention and growth; Demonstrates passion about empowering team members through continuous coaching, mentoring, and tailored development programs, and consistently demonstrates the ability to proactively manage capacity and resources to ensure optimal productivity and successful project delivery
  • Demonstrates a strong influential leadership style, leading teams in a highly matrixed environment required, working cross-functionally to drive innovation, prioritization and go-to-market strategies to deliver financial growth across product portfolios containing multiple products.
  • Expert in cloud-based products and services, demonstrating an understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure, and deployment models
  • Mentors teams to write detailed product requirements and demonstrates a solid understanding of product design, commercial model and packaging discussions
  • Experienced in Product tools required (Aha, JIRA, Figma)
  • Expert in Design Thinking for innovation is a plus (Use creative design thinking to develop innovative business solutions. Apply creative and analytical tools to develop real solutions for real needs, including personas, empathy mapping, prototyping and iteration models.)
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of customer needs through market and industry research and analysis of competitors
  • Is capable of setting the vision and ensuring its alignment with strategy and goals
  • Mastery at leading through influence with key decisions-makers within own function and across related functions to successfully navigate Equifax' organization
  • Has managed executional rigor of team to deliver product efforts on time to meet market demands
  • Has owned financial performance of a product portfolio including investments, budgets
    What could set you apart
    • Graduate degree preferred; Product Management certifications is a plus.
    • Thought leader delivering executive level presentations and visual communication to convey the product vision
    • Experience in the technology and/or data industries or working with technology and/or data-related products and services preferred.
