Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Macon, GA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,766 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/26/2026 About the Position Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience License: RN License (Associate's degree at a minimum) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) test completed during onboarding Strong clinical assessment and time management skills IV insertion and maintenance skills Cardiac monitoring and interpretation skills Care coordination with interdisciplinary team skills Discharge planning knowledge and patient education skills Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the MedSurg/Tele unit. The facility has 637 licensed beds and is a teaching hospital with various specialized centers. The unit has an average census of 16 patients, with a minimum of 16 beds. Typical patient conditions include chest pain, syncope, abdominal pain, cellulitis, COPD exacerbation, heart failure observation, dehydration, hypertension, diabetes, and simple trauma. Patient ratios are 1 RN for every 4 to 6 patients. Responsibilities include tracheostomy care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and the administration of glucommander, insulin drips, and heparin drips. Nurses are expected to participate in care coordination and utilization of discharge planning protocols. Nursing support on the unit includes CNAs for assistance with vital signs, glucose checks, and patient ambulation. A unit secretary is available during specific hours to assist with administrative tasks. Resources include a respiratory team, hospitalists, and intensivists available 24/7. Electronic Medical Records system used is EPIC. Nurses utilize various equipment such as vital sign monitors, glucose stat strips, and PCA pain management systems. The schedule requires weekend rotations, with participation expected for major holidays. The unit operates in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes teamwork and collaboration.
