Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: CVICU - Discipline: RN - Duration: 10 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Local Contract Job Title: Registered Nurse – CVICU Location: Atlanta, GA 30309 Start Date: 07/28/2025 Contract Length: 12 Weeks Shift: Nights, 4x12 (19:00 – 07:00) Unit Information - Unit: CV ICU / CVICU 6A/6B (Unit 63330) - Beds: 42 - Daily Census: ~30 - Patient Ratio: 1:2 (Days/Nights/Weekends) - Patient Population: Adults, Geriatrics - Charting: Epic (required) Required Experience and Certifications - Minimum Experience: 2 years of CVICU bedside experience prior to travel (HARD STOP) - Travel experience itself does not count toward this 2-year minimum. - Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS Preferred Experience - Teaching hospital - Community hospital - LTAC - Trauma Level I or II Core CVICU Skills Required - IV therapy - Arterial line management - Central line care and management - Swan Ganz catheter monitoring - Manual thermodilution (cardiac index calculation) - Epicardial/transvenous pacing wire management - Immediate post-open-heart surgical admission - Post-cardiac surgery (direct from OR) - Care of ventilated patients - Dysrhythmia interpretation and management Preferred Advanced CVICU Skills - ECMO - Impella - Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump - Nurse-driven ECMO protocols - Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD/RVAD) - CVVHD/CRRT Patient Diagnoses - Advanced Heart Failure - Multi-vessel Coronary Disease - Coronary Artery Disease - Pulmonary Hypertension - Valvular Heart Disease Common Procedures - Bronchoscopies - Intubations - Tracheostomies - Central/arterial line insertions - Swan Ganz catheter insertions Unit Overview - Specializes in open-heart surgery - Averages 6–8 bypass pump surgical cases daily - Post-surgical heart transplants and LVAD patients - High-acuity ICU with strong interdisciplinary support - Support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Phlebotomy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams Scheduling & Coverage - Weekends: Every other weekend - Call: None - Floating: Within facility/scope of practice as needed About LanceSoft Established in 2000, LanceSoft is a Certified MBE and Woman-Owned organization.
